Bookstore information
The campus bookstore has sent out a request asking faculty and staff to tell their students to bring printouts of their class schedules with them when they come to the bookstore to buy books. The bookstore explains the rationale really well:
"This is the only way the Bookstore Staff can make absolutely sure the correct textbooks are selected. Some students think that telling us it is the red book with the stripe on it or it is the class that is taught by the tall man with the beard is enough for the Bookstore to help them find their book."
Another issue not mentioned is that there might be several sections of a class (e.g., PSYC 1101) taught by different instructors who use different books. If you don't know exactly which section you're in, you might buy the wrong book.
You see the problem here. Take your schedule to the bookstore.

Registration Update and Human Growth and Development
The following information comes from the Registrar's Office:
"Fall Registration will be open through RAIN for students beginning
Monday, July 27th at 8:00 am through Thursday, August 20th at 5:00
pm. Students should be able to process changes through RAIN during
this time. First term freshmen should see Cara Lea Fowler in the
Nursing Building, Room 126 for class schedule changes. Continuing
students who have an advisement flag will need to see their advisor."
And this information comes from me:
As of right now, there are no seats available in either section of PSYC 2103, Human Growth and Development. If a section is closed, that means that there are no more chairs in the room. Because students are able to register themselves for classes, it is difficult for me to maintain a waiting list: If a student drops the class and a seat opens up, another student can snag it before I know about it. My best advice for students who want to get into this class is to keep checking back on RAIN to see if a seat opens up, and to grab it if it does. Do not register for a section you will be unable to go to in hopes I will let you go to the more convenient one instead; I am not allowed to do that. Thanks.

Summer office hours
I am not teaching this summer (which means I'm not getting paid, either, but that's another story) and therefore have no office hours set up. I am checking and responding to email and phone messages, but am not in the office on a regular basis.
